Even if you can’t draw – pick up a pen or pencil and just doodle. You can draw stick figures, scribbles, random shapes, anything. More than the actual final piece, it’s the process that matters. Improvement will automatically follow.
- Use colour
Don’t be afraid to pick up a blue pen and a red pen and just experiment with it. Monochrome is artistic, but colour adds excitement!
- Follow other artists
You derive inspiration from muses. Muses can be other artists, not necessarily doing the same work as you. Follow any artists – painters, sketch artists, writers, photographers, filmmakers – everyone is an artist in their own way.
Art is a form of self-expression usually. Even if you are drawing a subject, your style will be different from someone else’s. Have some alone time and think about who you are – what do you like? What do you dislike? What makes you happy? What makes you sad? Introspection is the best way to develop your own personal style of art.
- Creativity is universal
For folks who claim that they are not creative, there is no such thing. Everyone is creative. You just have to find your comfort zone to express it. So follow our tips, and you’ll be fine! 🙂
